Welcome to the home page of Karolina Fučíková, Ph.D. I study the diversity and evolution of algae using microscopy, DNA sequencing, and phylogenetic and bioinformatic methods.
My main areas of research include studying the evolution of chloroplast and mitochondrial genomes of green algae, exploring algal biodiversity in various habitats from wetlands to deserts, and reconstructing evolutionary histories of major groups of green algae.
